I'm Shelia, An Expert in Organizing
After graduating with an AS Degree in Interior Design in the early 90’s, I began working in the industry right away. I started at a local design firm doing residential. I continued on this path working for a few different design firms, over the course of the next 15 years, gaining new skills and knowledge. In early 2000 I landed a job in Winter Park at California Closets, and several years later I moved to San Francisco to work in the Bay Area, finishing out my career with them after 13 years. During this time, I learned that I really enjoyed organizing, just as much as Interior Design.
I began to offer, in addition to my design services, personal organizing for select clients when needed. Wanting to expand my horizons, I decided to move on, accepting a position in Showroom Visual Merchandising. After decorating 50,000+ square foot showrooms for almost 10 years, and with all of my experience and knowledge combined, I was finally ready to go out on my own. I wanted the freedom to work for myself, and somehow incorporate my dream of organizing. After a car accident left me laid up for almost a month, I left showroom design for good and it was perfect timing. After a close friend called me, and a design position opened up, I took a job working with four amazing talented women, that I happen to know very well. We have all worked in the design industry together at some point over the last 25 -30 years. Ironically, life has brought us all back together. As an independent Interior Design consultant at Coastal Interiors, I can honestly say that I have never been happier.
So, it was the perfect time to start that organizing side business I always dreamed of. Shelia’s Space Solutions was created (with the goal) to make your everyday tasks more functional and create peace of mind, so you can live a stress free life. I believe organization does all of that and more. It is not only rewarding to create beautifully organized spaces, but it is truly a gift to be able to do the two things I love most and help people at the same time.
